Kraft Heinz Quickly Abandons Pursuit of Unilever

As quickly as it came, it’s going away: Mere days after Kraft Heinz’s (NASDAQ: KHC) blockbuster $143 billion offer for British-Dutch conglomerate Unilver (NYSE: UL) was made public, the U.S. company is retreating from the attempt. In a tersely worded joint press release, the pair said that the bidder “has amicably agreed to withdraw its proposal for a combination of the two companies.” The statement did not provide reasons for Kraft Heinz’s decision. …read more
